Phygital Civic Engagement / Hybrid Events Market Growth
HK Gov Embraces AI: Smarter Public Engagement
AI is no longer a future trend; it's a tender requirement for modern public comms.
The global hybrid events market was valued at USD 14.6 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow at a 12.8% CAGR through 2034 (MarketIntelo, 2026). Research in the Journal of Strategic Marketing (2026) confirms that “phygital” activations consistently outperform traditional media in engagement metrics.
How this impacts your upcoming tender specifications:
| → | Measurable ROI: Digital engagement overlays (QR, AR) provide concrete, auditable KPIs for post-event reporting, replacing estimated footfall with hard data. |
| → | Budget Efficiency: Social-sharing mechanics organically extend your campaign’s reach beyond the physical venue, lowering the cost-per-engagement. |
| → | Demographic Penetration: Phygital formats successfully bridge the gap between digital-native youth and traditional audiences, ensuring broad civic compliance. |

Revitalizing Civic Engagement: The “Elections in the Community” Roving Exhibition
Transforming complex electoral processes into engaging, accessible content for all demographics.
|
|
Facing public apathy towards the 2026 Legislative Council election, the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau sought to demystify the electoral process. Firebean designed the “Elections in the Community” Roving Interactive Exhibition, transforming complex civic information into interactive, family-friendly games across major malls.
This initiative moved beyond conventional outreach, successfully engaging diverse demographics, particularly younger professionals. By gamifying learning and providing direct simulations, we ensured the electoral process was not only understood but actively embraced, demonstrating that serious civic messages can be effectively communicated through innovative experiential design. We transformed a standard civic education campaign into a high-footfall destination, generating significant organic social media amplification and measurable public interaction.
Key Project Deliverables:
| → | Turnkey execution of a multi-district roving exhibition, ensuring broad public access and engagement. |
| → | Integration of physical structures (3D-printed sculptures) with interactive digital panels for trackable engagement. |
| → | Measurable increase in public understanding and positive sentiment towards civic participation. |
